THE EARTH ELEMENT COURTYARD
The Earth Element Courtyard is an open area with shifting, stacked plates of scattered planters and diverse desert plants at different heights throughout. An oasis-like atmosphere would help the visitors calm and regenerate their spirit, potentially giving the impression of suspension of time and place.
THE air ELEMENT COURTYARD
The Air Element Courtyard provides a space with shifted plates between water ponds throughout the concealed courtyard. A concrete plate located at the end of the courtyard is designed as a meditation/relaxation space, allowing the occupant to detect a drastic temperature shift as he/she ascends the space.
THE FIRE ELEMENT COURTYARD
The Fire Element Courtyard takes the pattern of a broken tectonic plate throughout the courtyard, giving it an illusion of an active volcano in the mist. The broken tectonic plates lead to the fire pit providing a representation of the design element "fire" within the courtyard.
THE WATER ELEMENT COURTYARD
The Water Element courtyard presents a unique body of still and running water with openings that allow light to reflect into space while projecting beautiful water patterns onto the concrete walls. The gradient colors of the sky ranging from yellows to blues to reds would permeate the space, as the day passes.
Inspired by the mystical healing traditions of the Joshua Tree, for those who may be interested in more communal activities, the complex includes a wellness center replete a sauna, steam room, and area for spa treatments that is open to everyone.
